Our Story
Authenticity with high quality ingredients, we prepare all our dishes treating everyone with family love.

Mambos Café owners, the Gonzalez family, emigrated from Santiago de Cuba in the 70’s and established roots in Spain, New Jersey and eventually the West Coast where they launched their life-long dream of opening an authentic Cuban cafe in 1988. Thirty-six years later, this true family run restaurant is still flourishing in the city of Glendale, CA.
On any given day you may see Raul Sr. and wife, Mima, embodying the true essence of a family-run operation, by greeting customers as they enter to find their ideal seat. More likely you’ll find their son, the keeper of the flame, Raul Jr, also known as Ralph(y), running the day to day of the family business, allowing his parents to take more time to enjoy their golden years.

Everyday you’ll find a mix of passionate regulars and new exuberant diners making their trek to try Mambos’ authentic Cuban cuisine. The recipes are their families own, from the traditional staple Cuban dishes to evolved innovations to entice the modern palate. Nobody is left out from the menu and everyone goes home satisfied.
Mambo’s has prospered through word-of-mouth, for it is a best-kept secret to its patrons, who are eager to return with more excited friends to get a taste. It is considered one of the top Cuban restaurants in Southern California, previously featured on the Food Network with Guy Fieri’s – “Diners, Drive-in’s, and Dives”, the premier series featuring notable small businesses .

Getting accolades from industry outlets is always cherished, but it’s not what has kept Mambos thriving. The one constant throughout the years has been family and for the Gonzalez family, it extends to everyone who enters their doors. Home is where the family lives and for many supporters they are grateful to call Mambos home.
